Union Bound: the Tour

Union Bound is the true story of Sergeant Joseph E. Hoover, a Union Soldier, who was captured in 1864 at the Battle of the Wilderness. He was taken to the notorious prison camp, in Andersonville, Georgia. After four months, he was transferred to Florence, South Carolina. While in the Florence prison camp, together with a fellow prisoner, he escaped. The two wanted fugitives, were aided along their journey to freedom, by slaves, in what is now known as the “underground railroad.” Hoover wrote two diaries during his ordeal, which the movie is based upon. Sean Stone (son of Director Oliver Stone) portrays Joseph Hoover.
