Name: State of Comedy
Date: June 9, 2017
Time: 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM EDT
Event Description:
Ben Bergman has an immature demeanor and joy for making fun of himself, his friends and family. Ben has performed in festivals like the Laughing Derby, Laughing Skull in Atlanta and the last TBS Just For Laughs Festival in Chicago. He began working the road performing almost every week. When not traveling out of town he is booked steadily as a house emcee at Zanies in Chicago. One to diversify his talents he’s studied improv and acting, and has attended classes at Annoyance Theatre and Second City. Ben Bergman landed some print & commercial work as husband, teacher and loser boyfriend. Born and raised in Kentucky he never would have imagined that comedy would take him to thirty of the fifty states and from theaters of 1,000 people to clubs of a several hundred, he even did one show in North Dakota for 4 people. Ben's act is accessible to people of all backgrounds mostly because he enjoys performing for a variety of people and he is a human being. He now works out of New York, NY. Born in Brooklyn, New York Derrick Eason's comedic style encompasses every aspect of American life. His comedy is the truth and undeniably funny. "Outrageously subte" rarely seen in today's comedians, his view of the world is an honest and unique reflection of today's society. You'll be laughing at yourself through his universal stories. Derrick's like-ability is instant. Whether in Holland, on a cruise ship, in the Catskills or your back yard, Derrick Eason is a well-received highlight. He has worked for Carnival Cruise Lines for about 11 years. Work seems to be more rewarding than ever...and he’s never felt "freer" or more fearless on stage. He loves his "voice" and knows he’s reaching people with more than just a joke or two. “Love Somebody! If you can’t find somebody to love, love yourself....especially if you ugly....because that's all you got to work with!"
